All framed by exclusive insight from true icons of the world’s biggest sports and thought leaders in emerging disciplines. Join us at this watershed event, where the worlds of sport, media and technology unite. The Summit will offer an unparalleled programme and have a far reaching impact on the industry.

What's on?

  • Football has changed. Clubs continue to form part of the cultural and sentimental heritage of cities, while national football teams remain a patriotic symbol. However, recent decades have been dominated by the increasing importance of the sport’s financial and media dimensions. The influence of geographies is replacing that of top commercial brands, and the impact of the Middle East cannot be underestimated as the region looks to develop commercial networks in the West in preparation for a modern, post-gas economy.

  • The past decade has seen a golden age for streaming. As the media landscape continues to evolve post-pandemic, broadcasters and streamers are facing greater competition and witnessing more subscriber churn. As a result, live sports are being used as a differentiator to help attract and retain subscribers. Providers also want to use live sporting events to entice advertisers, who see their sizeable audiences as a smart investment. Sports organisations, on their end, want to monetise their rights further, expand access to products, and pursue younger consumers.

  • The sports media landscape is in a period of transformation as athletes take more control over their public profile. In the web2 era, athletes used social media to go direct to their fans, independently of their clubs, leagues, and federations. Buoyed by that success, some athletes are now investing in, or even creating their own platforms. Others are using their channels on various platforms to go beyond sports – as activists on social issues.

  • Generation Z are no longer a mere fascination. These “Zoomers” now wield serious purchasing power and cultural capital as they put their imprint on the global economy. They also eschew the traditional sports consumer franchise experience, and declining attendance and viewership is already a reality for organisations slow to adapt. Join us for a conversation on how leaders across the industry are thinking about and tackling how to engage with and meet the needs of Generation Z.
